Auction Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on and highly organised Auction Manager to oversee and manage all physical and operational aspects of our auction business.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the ground — sourcing stock, inspecting items, working directly with buyers and sellers, and ensuring auctions run smoothly from start to finish. You’ll play a central role in maintaining trust, quality, and efficiency across our auction operations.

Key Responsibilities

As the Auction Manager, you will:

• Source auction stock from private sellers, businesses, and estates

• Inspect, catalogue, and accurately describe items, including condition reporting

• Photograph and prepare lots for both online and in-person auctions

• Liaise directly with buyers and sellers, providing clear and professional communication

• Manage seller agreements, reserves, and auction terms

• Oversee auction-day logistics, including setup, bidding activity, and post-auction processes

• Coordinate collections, payments, and dispute resolution where required

• Ensure compliance with company standards and ethical auction practices

Candidate Requirements

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Experience in auctions, retail, asset sales, logistics, or sales operations

• Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset

• Confidence in dealing face-to-face with buyers, sellers, and suppliers

• Ability to assess item condition, value, and suitability for auction

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Basic computer skills for inventory systems and online listings

• A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally when required
